Volunteer Information

Oak Mesa welcomes and appreciates Parent Volunteers.  We encourage parents to communicate with teachers to learn of opportunities in how you can serve.  There are a few capacities that one can serve as parent volunteer.  The most common are in the classroom and on field trips.  There are a few requirements that one needs to meet to serve as a volunteer which sometimes differ.

If you would like to volunteer in the classroom or during a field trip where you will accompany the teacher (will not be assigned a small group), these are the requirements:
  1. A District volunteer form must be completed.  Click here for the on-line form.
  2. Proof of a cleared TB must be on file.  If you have not submitted a copy of a cleared TB test to Oak Mesa's front office, please do so prior to the day of being a classroom volunteer or field trip.
  3. Receive confirmation from the teacher that you will be a classroom volunteer for a specified day or accompany the teacher on a specified field trip.

  3. Cleared Life Scan (Fingerprinted) through the Bonita Unified School District.  Please note that if you have done this for another district, it needs to be done again. Once you have done a Life Scan through Bonita Unified School District, it is good for all schools within BUSD and does not need to be repeated.  Click here for the form to take with you to the location you choose for Life Scan.
  4. Receive confirmation from the teacher that you will serve as a field trip chaperone and will be assigned a group of students.
