School Site Council

The purpose of School Site Council is to create another voice for the school that is composed of both staff members and parents.  School Site Council is an advisory group to the Principal.  Those who serve on School Site Council help make decisions, participate, and share opinions and concerns with the rest of the board.  Parents who serve on School Site Council serve a two year term.  At the conclusion of their term, Oak Mesa invites parents who wish to run for election, to respond to the Principals' communication advertising those empty seats.  Those who inform their desire to run for School Site Council to Oak Mesa's Principal are placed on an electronic ballet that is sent to all Oak Mesa families.  Those who receive the most votes for the number of open positions available will serve on the committee.  This process is done around September of every year.  School Site Council meetings are posted on the school website calendar and are open to the public.
